Want To Improve The Quality Of Your Sleep? Let Your iPhone And WakeMate Help

January 5, 2010

WakeMate is an upcoming iPhone accessory that aims to help you improve the quality of your sleep by analyzing your sleeping patterns and waking you up at precisely the right moment.  And honestly, who isn't in need of a better night's sleep? The entire WakeMate package consists of a Bluetooth wristband, iPhone app, and online analytics tools.  The wristband contains a small device called an actigraph which measures your movements while you sleep.  The device sends information to the upcoming iPhone app, which not only records all of your sleep data, but also helps determine when your alarm should sound.  It's not like WakeMate will wake you up at any moment throughout the night, however.  You are able to set your alarm for a 20-minute window, and WakeMate will wake you at your lightest stage of sleep, which should leave you feeling more refreshed. wakemate_wristbandAll of your sleep data is also uploaded automatically to WakeMate's analytics platform.  This service will allow you to take a look at just how well you slept overnight by issuing you a sleep score.  If you didn't sleep particularly well, you can access information on how to improve your sleep. WakeMate is set to ship on January 25th for $49.99, and is currently available for pre-order.
