If there is one term that tends to come back during pretty much every discussion around the recent Flash on the iPad debacle, it’s certainly Hulu.
Indeed, watching shows on your iPad will most probably be particularly enjoyable, and the idea of being able to do so for free, directly from your browser, is just priceless. Well, we’re hearing that this could still be in question.
According to TechCrunch’s Eric Schonfeld, Hulu is prepping an iPad friendly version of the platform, which could be available at the iPad’s launch.
Furthermore, this is apparently just a matter of flipping a switch for Hulu since all their library is already stored in h.264, an iPhone/iPad friendly format.
Does this sound like something that would make you buy an iPad?

No hulu would not do it for me. I’m looking for a full on tablet computer but totally apple. I maybe asking for the impossible but I will always hope.

I agree with SaintCurmudgeon’s comment – I’m actually considering buying it due to hulu. I’m happy Hulu will be (or is planning to be at least) ready for the iPad before it is released – more money for them!

So, if Hulu is pretty much ready to display video on the iPad other than the size format… Why not make the videos available for the iPhone/iPod touch!?
There are times where I would gladly watch Hulu videos on my iPhone if I could. Mind you, I’m not going to do this all the time, but if in a conversation someone mentions a skit on SNL or such, and it’s available on Hulu, why shouldn’t I be able to watch it on my iPhone!?
Ah well, lets hope this isn’t just another stupid rumor that fanboy’s are spreading for the sake of drawing website hits. (Not AppAdvice here, but the site that AppAdvice linked to.)
If it’s true that Hulu keeps the videos in h.264 format, then the only element that prevents them being shown on the iPhone OS (iPad and otherwise) is the flash encoding delivery system.
If they build a redirect to a site delivering videos via the increasingly stable HTML5 encoders (like sublime), problem solved. Incidentally, stability issue in Safari on OS X would be solved, also.
