Overview

Are you constantly away from home or the office and always have the need to check something on your desktop? If your job requires you to use VNC then Jaadu VNC is the perfect iPhone application for you! Jaadu VNC is a Virtual Network Computing (VNC) application that allows users to access other computers with ease.
Features
Compared to most other VNC applications on the App Store, this one exceeds in performance and has great features.
The Good
Jaadu has to be one of the best, if not the best, VNC client for the iPhone. It is easy to use, reliable, fast, and simple. Although the price is not the cheapest, it definitely is worth it. From testing this application, it works great with following operating systems: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, Mac OS X Leopard, Mac OS X Snow Leopard, Fedora 11, and Red Hat Linux. What is my point? It works. I love this application and will definitely use it on a day-to-day basis during vacations and road trips.
The Bad
I have very few complaints with this application. First of all, as I mentioned early, the price. Twenty-five dollars isn’t bad, but there would definitely be more sales if it was priced lower at around fifteen. Second, the display is not very crisp unless you zoom in. When zoomed in, it looks great, but zoomed out, not so much. According to Jugaari, the company who created Jaadu, the application works with dual displays as well, combining them both onto the iPhone’s screen. Although this could become a little harder to use, it is a great concept.
The Verdict
Jaadu is reliable, fast, simple, and innovative. Jugaari has done an excellent job on this application. Although its price may not suit your budget, Jaadu is definitely one of the best VNC applications on the App Store.

I starting using this app when it was still named Teleport (in 2008), and it has saved me more than once. It has also paid for itself multiple times, by allowing me to avoid return drives to the office. Email myself a file from the home computer, restart the Web or database server in the office, check if Compressor is done encoding the dailies and FTP them to the client, all while sitting in the pub… everything simply works, even dual-30″-monitor-setups over EDGE. Worth every penny.
I have also been using it since it was called Teleport, and like marv said it is worth every penny. I am using it with a dual display at home and it works great. The 3 finger tap to zoom in and out on the cursor makes it extremely fast and easy to navigate. Make sure to check all the finger gestures, there are quite a few good ones. I use it with FreeSSHd for a secure connection.
I use Jaadu VNC all the time. It’s the quickest way to check on something on my Mac Pro without having to go downstairs to check on it.
My Mac Pro has 2 1600×1200 res monitors running and Jaadu VNC works like a charm. I don’t see the issues you mentioned with the zooming. Lets face it, when a 1600×1200 or 3200×1200 screen is zoomed down, you just are not going to see much no matter how dense the pixels on the iPhone screen. I typically zoom out to get the cursor over to the general location I want, then zoom in to do the work I need to do.
Like Marv08, I feel Jaadu VNC is worth every penny, and I would gladly pay again if I needed to.
I’ve used Jaadu since it came out and it only gets better! Worth every penny! We’ll written and intuitive to use. All iPhone apps should be this good!
Rich
Is the app really that good to be worth 25 dollars, compared to the free Mocha VNC Lite? Somehow Mocha provides everything I need (simple mouse control with basic keyboard).
Yes, absolutely. However, if you are getting everything you need with Mocha, then I don’t see the need to switch to Jaadu VNC. I found other VNC clients for the iPhone/iPod touch to be sorely lacking and when I found Jaadu VNC, I jumped at it. (After a little research making sure it was all it claimed to be)
It has gone on sale before. Even as low as $5. However, it’s been a little while since that has happened. I usually wait for such sales, but I purchased Jaadu for the full $25. As luck would have it, it went on sale for $5 a couple of weeks after I did so. I was a little bummed, but as I said before, I would pay the $25 again if they pulled a Tweetie 2 and made a new version instead of updating the existing version. It really is that good.
Hi guys,
Thanks for the comments and the review, they are very encouraging. Just wanted to mention a couple of things
1) Jaadu will also work with most AMX panels that come with VNC Server; this way you can control devices in your home from your iPhone
2) The name has recently been changed back to iTeleport (for you old-timers)
