Despite of everybody ranting about what a catastrophic job they’re doing, there is one thing Microsoft does well in my opinion, and it’s their Office suite.
As you know, Apple developed an iPad specific version of its own office suite, iWork, which comes in three separate $9.99 apps. The first question Jobs got from Mossberg after the keynote was however very revealing: “Can I export from it to Office?”
Well, if you too, (secretly maybe), favor Microsoft’s Office over Apple’s iWork, then Microsoft might come up with something for you too. Mike Tedesco, Microsoft’sĀ Senior Product Manager for WindowsBU apparently told T3 today that:
Yeah, it’s something that we’re looking at
While this doesn’t mean much, it wouldn’t be very surprising. After all, as Tedesco explains, Microsoft already has a working touch-screen version of Office since a while andĀ the success of their iPhone Bing app might also push them in this direction.
I’d love that, you?

It would be good, simply because there are so many people out there who use Microsoft Office, particularly Word. I’d be a bit worried at a professional level if I wrote a document and couldn’t send it to anyone at work – I’m one of a very few people who use a Mac at my office.
