You Can Now Find 1000: Find 'Em All! In The App Store

It's time to put your virtual and real life walking shoes on, because Glu Mobile's GPS-based adventure game, 1000: Find 'Em All!, is now available in the App Store. As we detailed in a preview post about a week ago, 1000: Find 'Em All! will have you traveling through a virtual world and the real world in order to find and collect 1,000 different items.  It's a very unique approach to mobile gaming that will hopefully be viewed as more than just a gimmick.

1000: Find 'Em All! features three ways to collect items.  One way is to wander around in the real world in order to spot items on a map, which will appear as little colorful presents.  You will then have to head to that location, and the item will be placed in your inventory. Another means of real world discovery is available even for those of you without GPS capabilities. In the game you can perform a search to find local Wi-Fi hotspots. For example, at a cafe or hotel. When found, the hotspot will create a character in the game, and when traveled to, will provide you with another new item. The final way of discovering items is via the virtual world.  As you wander around in the game, the drab gray backgrounds will turn to color whenever you explore new territory, which is essential to finding new items.  You must shake trees, poke chickens, turn windmills, and basically interact with everything to discover new items. 1000: Find 'Em All! is now available in the App Store for $2.99. The GPS-based element is only available to iPhone users, but iPod touch users aren't left out of the fun thanks to the other two means of discovery.
