MobileNavigator v1.5 Now Available, Adds Social Connectivity, 3D Map Views, And Personalized Routes

March 29, 2010

This is it MobileNavigator users, this is what you have all been waiting for since mid-February. Today Navigon's MobileNavigator v1.5 update was released, unleashing three new features which include Facebook and Twitter connectivity, 3D in-map views, and personalized routes. MobileNavigator's new social feature allows you to post your current position, destination, and estimated time of arrival to your Facebook or Twitter feeds, all without causing an interruption in the navigation process. MobileNavigator v1.5 also adds MyRoutes, or simply put, personalized routes. This feature analyzes your driving habits, patterns, location, and the time/day to provide you with up to three routes to choose from along with an estimated time of arrival, distance, and driving time for each of those routes. The third new feature comes at a cost, but that doesn't make it any less worthy. Panorama View 3D gives you true 3D in-map views of the terrain ahead of you by using data supplied by NASA. It displays digital landscape elevations, shadows, and geographic images to give you a better idea of what lies ahead. Since the feature is integrated in-map, you won't need an Internet connection. Panorama View 3D is available as a $9.99 in-app purchase. If you start downloading the update now to obtain your free MyRoutes and social features, you will still have plenty enough time to decide if you want to purchase those pretty 3D in-map views since you have to re-download that giant 1.46GB app. The clock is slowly ticking.
