Wow, less than 24 hours after putting his hands on it, Dev-Team member Musclenerd just tweeted that apparently, he already managed to jailbreak the iPad.
His tweet, consisting of the screenshot above and the announcement:
“initial porting of “Spirit” jailbreak by @comex to iPad”
shows that he can already remotely access the iPad’s entire file system and run programs on it.
Needless to say this is huge folks; First of all, Musclenerd is one of the main actors of the jailbreak scene and can definitely be trusted on this one and secondly, the fact that he already made it this far means that we’ll be getting Cydia on there in no time.
***Update 1
Now in video (youtube link):

Wow! I didn’t except it to be jailbroken at all, but I guess its possible.
Lol, how can it not be jailbroken? Software is similar to iPhone, and the developers already had an unreleased jb for the new os on iPhone. Same loophole to get in.
Now to see how long before they get all the software and stuff working.
I’m just curious to see how Cydia will work on the iPad
Saurik posted on Twitter yesterday saying, making Cydia “iPad awesome” isn’t a problem. But the description pages from the repo’s will look horrible unless they do some user agent design switching
It wasn’t musclenerd that jailbroke it. It was comex (http://twitter.com/comex), and chpwn (http://twitter.com/chpwn) is writing the GUI for it.
Still, pretty sweet that it’s already done
Jailbroken not Jailbreaked.
neither – rooted.
This video turns me on. (seriously)
ok, just one wish:
give the iPad the capability to sync with the iPhone; and bring that multitask to this amazing device !
What’s with all the bang-history commands?
@michael campbell — it’s because it’s hard to type while recording the video.
Hey, there too many discussion on iPads that we’ve missed for the iPhone. This website is slowly becoming irrelevant to iPhone users.
Please update with more iPhone content. Not 10 iPad posts and 1 iPhone post. Give me a reason to keep coming back to check. Please?
Yes I am a noob but if someone could please explain to me what exactly I witnessed without ripping me new one lol I’d greatly appreciate it. Much obliged
I agree with Phillip. Please continue focusing on th iPhone. That’s why I am a fan of this website. Thanks!
Ouch, the article title hurts my head.
I agree with Philip also. I get that it’s new and all, but how about cover what got you these avid readers in the first place.
And I know there is an RSS feed, but it seems the iPhone news is lacking
this is absolut genious..great..
