George A. Romero's App Of The Dead Coming Soon To The App Store

May 17, 2010

George A. Romero, the master of horror cinema, has teamed up with Ohio-based developer Additive Interactive in order to provide you with the means to turn everyone you love into ghoulish zombies. The upcoming app titled App of the Dead is being released in order to help promote Romero's latest zombie film, Survival of the Dead, which will hit theaters on May 28th.  The app will allow you to turn your friends and family into zombies by allowing you to pull pictures from your camera roll or take new ones and apply bloody wounds and nasty scars.  The app will contain over 20 different zombie features to apply. App of the Dead isn't merely an image creator, however.  You will also be able to bring your newly created zombie into a shooting gallery and lay waste to it.  After you have pumped the zombie full of bullets and made a bloody mess, you can share the image with friends via email, upload it to a variety of social networking sites, or just save it to your camera roll. App of the Dead's price (if it will indeed cost something) has yet to be announced along with an exact release date, although these types of apps are normally promotional vehicles for their respective films, so we can only assume it will be available on or before the 28th.
