games_free

Normally we list all of the apps that have gone free in the title in order to give you an idea of what to expect, but today there are just way, way too many.  Today’s list consists of mostly games, although there are a couple apps from other categories.  The list also contains a couple of iPad apps as well, which are located at the bottom.

Also out of the ordinary is the brevity of our descriptions today, but with the large number of apps, that can be expected.

MouthOff ($1.99 -> Free): Put your iPhone in front of your mouth and MouthOff‘s 49 different mouths will react to your voice.  Works with 2nd gen iPod touch as long as you have headphones with a built-in mic.  1st gen iPod touch is not supported.

MouthOff is available for free today only (5/15).

Denizen ($1.99 -> Free): An action game where you control Xio, a flying mech, who must save the “Domain” by destroying rogue software. The game features an on-screen joystick to control your character’s movements, and touch and swipe controls to destroy enemies.  It also features two gameplay modes: campaign and survival.

Denizen is free today only (5/15).

Blubble ($.99 -> Free): A puzzle game where you control a blue blob who must hop over spiky Murtles, bounce off of mushrooms, and use other items in the environment to get to the teleporter in as few moves as possible.  The game features a total of 60 puzzles, five themes, and badges to collect.

Blubble has been available for free on and off, so it’s hard to say how long it will stay free this time around.

Traffic Ninja ($1.99 -> Free): A running game where you must simply leap over the oncoming traffic by tapping the screen.  The idea is to go as far as possible without getting pushed off the screen by a vehicle.  The game features two levels with different difficulties and local leaderboards.

Traffic Ninja is available for free today only (5/15).

iWater Flow ($.99 -> Free): The same game you loved as a kid, except without the messy water leaks. The idea of the game is to jet water in order to make the rings land on the spikes.  Tapping jets the water, and tilting moves the rings from side to side.  The game features three different modes: classic, rush, and time attack.

iWater Flow is available for free today only (5/15).

iPad apps/games:

Paddle Pong HD ($.99 -> Free): A Pong-style game that allows two players to play against each other on the same device.  Paddles can be placed at an angle by using two fingers to change the direction of the ball, and you can collect power-ups to impair your opponent.

Paddle Pong HD is available for free through the weekend.

BirdEye ($1.99 -> Free): A simple app that is able to display recent pictures posted by your friends via Twitter. It supports pictures posted via Twitpic, Mobypicture, Tweetphoto, and yfrog.

BirdEye is available for free for an undisclosed amount of time, so pick it up while you can.

If you are reading this, that means you made it through the massive list above.  Congratulations! Now go enjoy your free apps.
