WiFi-Sync App Gets Rejected - Comes To The Jailbreak

May 14, 2010

Always wanted to sync your iPhone with iTunes via Wi-Fi? Well, it's now possible, but you'll have to jailbreak. Indeed, Apple unsurprisingly didn't give much of a chance to Greg Hughes and his wireless iPhone syncing app; Wi-Fi sync. As explained by the developer to Engadget:

While he agreed that the app doesn't technically break the rules, he said that it does encroach upon the boundaries of what they can and cannot allow on their store. He also cited security concerns.

Fortunately, like so many times before, the developer decided not to let his work go to waste and has now released his app on Cydia. It's not cheap, as you'll have to drop $9.99 for it, but well, the trick is indeed impressive. At least you're now free to have it if you want, isn't that the whole point?
