Lost Your iPhone In A Bar? There Is Now An App For That!

June 18, 2010

Surprise surprise! Along its MobileMe website makeover, it seems like Apple has just released a brand new universal "Find my iPhone" app to the App Store.

Alright, it's not a complete surprise as there was some chatter about this yesterday already. Nevertheless, it's now confirmed and hunting for that iPhone you lost in a bar on your birthday is just about to get much more simple and fun. Confused? Alright, "Find my iPhone" is one of the services in Apple's MobileMe package. It allows you to track your iDevices from Apple's website. It's very convenient and works without notifying the person who took your phone. Apple recently added the possibility to use the service from another iDevice via their web interface, but seems like they ended up writing an app for that too.

I know it might sound a little crazy to make an iPhone app for when they steal your iPhone, but if you don't get it, then you're simply not enough of a fanboy yet.

The app itself is very simple, nothing fancy. Just does what it's meant to do.
