PhotoFast: A Device For The iPad That Makes Apple And Microsoft Play Nice

June 8, 2010

No, this is not a late April Fools joke. What you see above is a Microsoft LifeCam connected to an Apple iPad. PhotoFast is the world's first webcam for the iPad. The camera claims to capture a 640-by-480 video picture, 2MP resolution, and is (supposedly) compatible with most IM apps. PhotoFast connects to the iPad via the 30 pin dock connector. There is no set release date, but this is an interesting device that has not yet been seen before. The company is also said to be working on a TV Tuner and a peripheral that allows flash devices (such as USB sticks) to be utilized. Although this is a great idea, I would much rather see an integrated camera (or two) built-in to the iPad itself. Will you be getting one? via Pocket-lint
