The sensational team over at collegekidapp.com, now 9magnets, have created another nifty app for the iOS platform. Their latest project, Ask a Girl: The Ultimate Date Guide, is a simple but informative tool about the dos and don’ts of dating.

What is Ask a Girl: The Ultimate Date Guide? That’s what I asked to myself before trying it. It’s really an interesting idea. There is a small group of females which answer dating related questions. While every person is different, at least guys can get an idea of things women like and dislike without the need to get screamed at. Let’s get down to a quick example, shall we?

Question: Do you really ever need to take boys shopping with you? It’s so boring.

Sarah’s Reply: This really depends on the girl. To be honest, I like taking boys with me shopping because I like to know that they like what I’m buying. Girls may seem to be super self centered, but sometimes we care about you too! We want to look cute, but most importantly we want you to think that we are cute. If you don’t ever want to go shopping with us, that’s fine, will be more than happy to bring our friends along instead. However, we really do appreciate your opinion and always love having boy arm candy with us when we go to the mall.

That’s one of the more common answers a guy is curious about, but there are some that are frequent thoughts but likely wouldn’t be the first to end up on a top ten frequently asked dating questions list. One such example is, how do I tell a girl that I hate the music she’s listening to in her car while we’re driving?

The app offers dozens of various questions with the ability to submit your own to possibly be answered, added, and maybe even featured. After launching the app, you’re initially greeted with a featured section of what is considered the four top questions of the day, and then you can sift through the full list of questions. I found it extremely easy to get through the questions if you just want to go down the list. While viewing a question, swipe left or right to move to the previous or next one.

But it’s not all about questions, it’s also preparation. The app includes a basic first-date or pre-date checklist, making it no longer an excuse that you were too busy to remember flowers.

There is a lite version of the app available for free. It still offers a bunch of questions from the standard version but lacks the frequent updates, complete list of questions, the date checklist, and the ability to submit your own question. This is only the beginning, and primarily a test of the ‘waters’, though, the initial reviews seem really positive.

If somehow those of you following the tech world don’t remember the CKA crew, they created the Battery Go! utility app. What’s so special, you ask? It’s a good app but more-so, their ambitions were one of high news focus. Our own Tyler Tschida was one of few to get the initial ‘ground floor‘ scoop on these guys and their big plans one warm summer. Eventually, the app and entire project got so popular, Cameron and team ended up getting some large TV news spots, like this one from Fox Business News.

After graduating, the team has moved on to transform CKA into 9magnets. In what you would guess as a natural transition, their focus is now on helping others bring their great app ideas to the popular iOS platform. That hasn’t stopped them from creating their own apps, obviously.
