iMovie For iPhone Gets A Maintenance Update

July 6, 2010

Less than two weeks after its debut, iMovie for iPhone 4 already gets a few bugs squashed and a little performance boost. iMovie v1.0.1 corrects problems when exporting movie projects that include photos, resolves an audio playback issue, and addresses a few general reliability quirks. It may be a good idea to visit, or re-visit, the iMovie for iPhone 4: Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) support document. That way, you're fully aware of the features and certain limitations before taking the plunge. A few I'd personally like to highlight: • Note: Photos taken with the Camera button only appear in your iMovie timeline. They are not added to the iPhone camera roll. However, you can move video clips recorded in iMovie to your camera roll, so you can sync them to your computer later. • Note: Each title spans the entire video clip to which it is added. While the three title styles are designed to look best in specific parts of your movie, you can add any title style to any video clip in your project. You cannot add titles to photos. • You can only use one audio track per movie (one song only, not several in series). The audio track fades out automatically at the end of the audio track. Also note that only non-DRM music can be added to a project. In addition, when the audio track ends, the regular audio will increase (fade) back to normal level or there will be no audio if you've chosen to disable the clip(s) recorded audio track. We've seen some impressive and interesting projects, like short films and music videos, done on an iPhone 4. Do you have any projects of your own that you feel proud enough to come forward with?
