Rumor: Apple To Release iOS 4.0.1 Today

July 15, 2010

The Greek, iPhone-centric blog iPhoneHellas, is the source of an interesting rumor this morning. Apparently, Apple is on its way to releasing a bug-fixing 4.0.1 version of iOS to the general public.

As we've told you previously, last night Apple released a new 4.0.1 version of iOS to developers. It comes with the promised signal bar tweak and a bunch of new features (which I'm not quite done listing out yet). Since it's still in beta however, iPhoneHellas believes that Apple might push a bug-fix-only update to the rest of us mortals today which would just include the new signal bar.

Of course, this is just a rumor. Yet, iPhoneHellas does have some street cred as Macrumors points out. They have proven reliable in the past with firmware release dates. Guess we'll find out soon enough.

In the meantime, who wants some shiny new signal bars?
