Jailbreak Only: Backgrounder Due For An Update - New Features Will Be Added

August 15, 2010
iPhone 3G and 2G users might be interested to know that Backgrounder, the jailbreak app that brings multitasking to all, is due to receive an update - and a few new features are scheduled to be added to the popular application. Users will have the option to enable or disable fast app switching. If you decide to disable it, then apps which use VoIP, audio, or GPS will remain in the background - while others will close when you quit them. This is a great option for iPhone 3G and 2G users as, let's face it, these devices can struggle when too many apps are multitasking away. A series of general improvements have been made to the application, which increase Backgrounder's stability and make multitasking a more enjoyable experience. Additionally, the ability to "fast app switch" system applications has also been added. However, the application is not due to hit Cydia for a while yet. A beta version is currently available. Users are advised, for the best experience, that it's probably better to wait for a final release of this version of Backgrounder.
