iMovie Gets An Update & Some Great New Features

September 8, 2010
Good news for everyone who enjoys editing movies right on their iPhone, Apple's great iMovie app just got an update and a couple of interesting new features. On top of bringing iPod touch fourth generation compatibility, iMovie 1.1 will now allow you to split video clips and it also handles music better. It's apparently a bit snappier too, thanks to some performance improvements and bug fixes. However, note that it only works on iOS 4.1, so you're forced to update if you want to try it out. Considering that iOS 4.1 just brought us HD YouTube upload capabilities, iMovie has just gotten a lot more useful. Here is what's new:
• Compatible with iPod touch (4th generation). • Ability to split video clips. • Automatic music looping when video extends beyond music track. • Scrub to preview clips in Video Browser. • In-app Tips page that illustrates how to use key features. • Updated Photos Browser with newest images at top. • Mute badge to indicate video clips with audio disabled. • Additional performance and reliability improvements.
Apple's iMovie app is available for $4.99, for the iPhone and iPod touch 4, only on the Apple App Store.
