iPhone And iPad Apps Gone Free: Veggie Samurai, Pirate’s Mind, LeechTunes And More

Yesterday we were simply unable to find the time to generate an AGF list due to our hands-on coverage of Apple’s Special Event, and for that we apologize.  Today, however, we are back and ready as ever to provide you with some quality free apps.

This list features a multi-touch capable veggie slicing game, a memory game where you must think like a pirate, a gesture-based music player, and more.

Disclaimer: All prices are subject to change at any time and without notice regardless of stated free duration.

Veggie Samurai ($.99 -> Free): Basically Fuit Ninja with veggies instead of juicy fruit.  Slice and dice vegetables as they enter the screen by swiping with one or multiple fingers.  Each vegetable can be sliced multiple times, allowing you to score bonuses.  While slicing, try to avoid the poison jar, because smashing it will eventually end your game.  Veggie Samurai features multiple modes of play, tons of different veggies to slice, and OpenFeint integration.

Veggie Samurai is available for free today only (9/2). It has a four-star rating, and a total of 137 ratings.

Bounce Blast ($.99 -> Free): A relatively basic game where you launch balls and other objects into the air, and you must try to keep them from falling by shooting even more objects at them.  Each time a ball is bounced back up in the air, the number within it increases by one.  Keep it going to obtain the highest score.  The game features two different worlds, simple touch-based gameplay, and OpenFeint integration.

Bounce Blast is available for free for an undisclosed amount of time. It has a four-and-a-half-star rating, and a total of seven ratings.

Pirate’s Mind ($.99 -> Free): A memory game with a twist.  Tap a coin to flip it over and reveal the icon underneath, and then try to find matching coins.  The more like-coins you find before guessing incorrectly, the greater the multiplier.  You have a limited amount of time, so you must act quickly.  The game features two modes of play, and OpenFeint integration.

Pirate’s Mind is available for free today only (9/2). It has a three-and-a-half-star rating, and a total of 14 ratings.

Puzzle Bricks ($.99 -> Free): A simple brick breaking game where you are required to protect the planet Earth by shattering shapes.  Your paddle is controlled via touch and drag, and you must keep the ball and various objects from hitting the planet by deflecting or absorbing them.  The game features 25 levels, and OpenFeint integration.

Puzzle Bricks is available for free for a limited time. It has a four-and-a-half-star rating, and a total of 12 ratings.

Universal:

LeechTunes ($.99 -> Free): Gives you a new way to listen to your iPod music.  The app features customizable gesture controls, portrait and landscape modes, 20 skins, album art on a digitally generated CD case, the ability to view Wikipedia info for each artist, the ability to disable auto-lock, and more.

LeechTunes is available for free until September 4th.  It has a three-and-a-half-star rating, and a total of 46 ratings.
