Apple Store Check-In Apps Confirmed: Concierge, Scout, And iQueue

October 26, 2010
Great news: iOS check-in applications have recently been confirmed. According to MacStories, Apple Store managers recently attended a week-long conference in Los Angeles, where the concept of "wireless check-ins" was introduced to them. Following this, the service went live on Monday morning for Apple Store employees, who use an app called Concierge to receive push notifications from customers who've checked-in. Additionally, in Concierge employees can check an "iQueue" which lists waiting customers depending on what time they checked-in. Finally, a separate app called Scout allows managers to establish more accurate locations within the Apple Store, which obviously helps the check-in process. However, this is a one-time only app, used only to set up locations for the Store. Today, the Apple Store application was updated to allow customers to check-in. Apparently, customers with a reservation will receive a push notification when they enter their local Apple Store, asking if they'd like to check-in. If you do, the app will give you a waiting time, and a photo of the employee you'll be meeting. Clever, right? We've included some photos of the apps in action (below), courtesy of MacStories, so be sure to take a look. And, don't forget to let us know your thoughts regarding this new service in the comments below! [gallery]
