PadRacer Comes To The Mac - Uses Your iPhone As A Controller

October 22, 2010
Remember PadRacer? That great iPad racing game that allowed you to use your iPhone/iPod touch as a controller? Well, for those of you that always wanted to try it out, but don't own an iPad, today is your lucky day! It has just arrived on the Mac. To try it out, simply update the PodRacer app to the latest version in the App Store. Next, pay a visit to macracer.com and download the latest beta of the brand new PadRacer for Mac. Launch it on your Mac. Make sure your iPhone is on the same Wi-Fi network, launch the iPhone client, select the MacRacer tab and you are off to the races.

During testing I found it easier to play on the big screen of my Mac, rather than on the iPad. So, those with Macs and iPhones/iPod touches (but no iPad), can now enjoy the fun, old school game of PadRacer. This may be the first of many iOS games to start using Mac companions. Now that the Mac AppStore is coming, many other developers may bring the Mac into the loop of iOS fun. Will more and more developers start creating Mac counterparts to their iOS apps thanks to the new Mac App Store? Tell us what you think in the comments!
