AppAdvice v1.3 hit the App Store mere moments ago, and this one is all about the iPad.  But don’t worry, we aren’t leaving iPhone and iPod touch users out in the cold, as we are giving away a whopping 40 copies of the app in order to spread a little holiday cheer.

The latest version of our AppAdvice app focuses solely on making the entire experience much more enjoyable on the iPad.  The update added the ability to comment on news articles and reviews, and most importantly, allows iPad users to finally view all of our helpful AppLists and AppGuides. But what exactly are AppGuides and AppLists you ask?  Well, here’s a quick breakdown.

AppLists are what can be best described as hand-picked collections of apps that are able to fulfill a certain need. For example, let’s say you are a college student who would like to make your iPad “college-ready” before the school year begins. Well, we have an AppList for that. It provides you with all of the best apps to accomplish this task, like Pages, Penultimate, and iBooks. But that’s only the tip of the iceberg. We have AppLists for nearly everything you can imagine, and if we don’t have what you are looking for, you can suggest a specific one and we will do our best to compile a list for you.

AppGuides are a bit different. They are intended to help you find the best apps in a specific category. Looking for the best way to stream movies to your iPad? We lay it all out there for you, gathering together the absolute essentials so you can find just the right one, while informing you of the ones you should steer clear of. We have all kinds of other AppGuides as well, like the best PDF readers for iPad, the best RSS apps, the best word processors, and much more, so you will never have to take a chance on another app again.

So now that you know all about our AppLists and AppGuides, why not take them for a spin? In AppAdvice v1.3 you will see a new taskbar at the bottom of the screen which houses AppNews, AppLists, and AppGuides tabs whether you are in portrait or landscape orientation. AppLists and AppGuides can be filtered to only display iPhone or iPad related articles or both.

*If you are a current user upgrading to the latest version of the AppAdvice app and for some reason are unable to get the app to load, just delete it from your iDevice and reinstall it from the App Store.  You will not be charged again for your download.  We hope this doesn’t happen, but in rare cases it just might.

If you are enjoying the latest update, please feel free to leave a positive review in the App Store.  We always love to hear from you guys.
