Last week, Delta Airlines began installing “charging stations” for iPads and MacBooks in the gate area of 19 U.S. airports.
According to Delta Airlines’ blog, we can expect to see:
- Two Delta re-charging stations at each passenger gate area
- Each station features six standard 110 volt outlets and two USB ports per station
- Recharging pads in all domestic Delta Sky Club locations designed for smartphones and mobile devices (many locations already have these—just check at the reception desk for your preferred adapter!)
These improvements are part of Delta’s $2 billion investment to improve airport facilities. Over the past few months, airports have certainly become more tech-friendly. Just last month, 200 iPads were installed in New York’s JFK Airport.
So, the next time you’re at the airport, keep your eyes peeled for one of Delta’s “charging stations.” And, if you see one, let us know in the comments.
