Verizon Offers Costly Plan For Customers Wanting A New iPhone 4

January 18, 2011
The Verizon iPhone is about to arrive. This is good news for customers who have been waiting to buy Apple’s device, but didn’t want to switch to AT&T. However, what about those Verizon customers that recently bought another smart phone and now have buyer’s remorse? Verizon has a plan for you. For those customers who purchased a phone between November 26, 2010 and January 10, 2011, Verizon is offering a $200 Visa debit card. This can be used to purchase a Verizon iPhone 4:
Current Verizon customers who purchased and activated new smartphones, feature phones or certified pre-owned phones between 11/26/2010, and 01/10/2011, are eligible to receive up to a $200 Visa debit card when they purchase an iPhone 4 at full retail price by 02/28/2011 and return their existing phone. Note: This offer is only available on consumer accounts with five lines or less, who are purchasing iPhone 4 through Verizon Wireless retail stores, telesales, or through verizonwireless.com.
But, here is the rub: in order to qualify for this debit card, buyers will apparently need to purchase the iPhone at its full retail price, and must do so before February 28th. This means paying $649.99 for the 16GB model, or $749.99 for the 32GB model. The Verizon iPhone arrives February 3rd for existing Verizon users and February 10th for everyone else. What do you think?
