Apple Adds Search Filters To The iPad App Store

February 4, 2011
Seemingly out of nowhere, it looks like Apple's development team decided that the iPad App Store's search function was just too limited for their tastes, as it now features a variety of filters that will help you get the best possible app results. No matter which iOS you are sporting on your iPad, you should now see five different filters at the top of the screen when searching for apps in the App Store: category, release date, customer rating, price, and device. When tapped on, each filter will display a popover that allows you to narrow down your results. Your results will refresh the moment you change any one of the filters, so there is no need to search again. If you don't need to narrow down your results any longer, all of the filters can be reset with the tap of a single button. The search filters only appear in the iPad App Store, at least as of this moment. Go ahead and check them out for yourselves. [Thanks to davedxc for the tip!]
