Each Christmas night, I act as bartender at my aunt’s holiday party. I’m not very good at it, nor have I ever been an actual bartender. However, I have a really cool cocktail book, which gives me license to make sure the drinks are flowing.
For this year’s party, I’ll have a brand new tool for making drinks, courtesy of a new iPad app. Shaken, Not Stirred for iPad would make James Bond himself proud. It will also make your next party even better.
Created by San Francisco, California-based, bamboudesign, the app offers amazing pictures of the drinks along with their recipes using a coffee table format.
Drinks are arranged into four categories: spirits, colors, flavors and themes.
Have a lot of vodka lying around? Simply click on the vodka bottle under spirits and let the party begin.
Looking to make a “Bold & Sexy” drink? Find those under the app’s theme category.
There is also a “Pick a Drink for me!” feature, which randomly selects two drinks.
Shaken, Not Stirred is not without its limitations. For one, the app would be greatly improved with the ability to e-mail recipes. Second, there are only 50 recipes. Hopefully, future updates will add more to the mix.
Still, Shaken, Not Stirred for iPad is highly recommended. It is available in the App Store for $2.99.
