Losing its exclusive contract in the U.S. hasn’t resulted in AT&T losing a significant number of its iPhone customers to Verizon, according to the company’s CEO, Ralph de la Vega. In fact, one analyst has downgraded their expectations on how many customers will abandon AT&T for Verizon in the future.
According to de la Vega, as first reported in The Wall Street Journal:
”We haven’t seen any surprises, and everything is pretty much within our expectations.”
De la Vega has not shared specific numbers, so these optimistic comments aren’t guaranteed. In fact, a huge exodus from AT&T to Verizon could be happening, we’re not exactly sure.
Still, according to BGR, a Wells Fargo analyst says AT&T is expected to lose 150,000 contract customers in the first quarter of this year. This is down from their original projection of 225,000.
