Flick Golf Update Adds A Challenging New Mode And Nearly Doubles The Amount Of Courses

March 28, 2011
Flick Golf, Full Fat's rather neat take on portable arcade golfing, has been updated with all kinds of new content that will definitely put your golf ball flicking skills to the test. The first major update to Flick Golf adds a new and extremely challenging game mode called Quickshot Pro. Like the original Quickshot mode, Quickshot Pro requires you to score as many points as possible in a limited amount of time. However, the challenge is far greater, as you are given much less time, a higher point level to achieve, and some downright terrible weather conditions. Let's just say that this new mode isn't for the faint of heart. In addition to the new mode, Flick Golf v1.1 includes five new courses, three of which can be teed off on in Quickshot and Quickshot Pro modes and the other two in World Tour mode. It also includes Game Center integration for those running iOS 4.1 and above, 15 new achievements, and platinum trophies. Full Fat also took the opportunity to make some necessary tweaks and changes to the game including:
  • Easier level unlocks
  • Courses one and two now unlocked by default
  • Timer pauses for score summary between shots
  • Ball movement and bounce is now more consistent
  • Collision improvements around the hole
  • Framerate improvements
  • Added a successive hole-in-one counter
  • Score card added to the tutorial
  • Added a new level unlocked message during play
The latest version of Flick Golf for iPhone and iPod touch is available in the App Store for $1.99. The iPad version has yet to receive any of these changes and additions, however.
