Future iPhones Could Include 3D Photo And Video Taking Capabilities

April 1, 2011
Could future iPhones allow pictures to be taken and displayed in 3D? Sounds like they could, according to a September 2009 patent request filed by Apple, in news first reported by Apple Insider. According to a patent entitled, “Systems and Methods for an Imaging System Using Multiple Image Sensors,” Apple would provide a system that “would capture, process and render 3D images with the accompanying dual-camera hardware.” In addition to providing still imaging, the 3D iPhone would allow the user to record video in 3D. With the Nintendo 3DS handheld gaming console having just arrived in the U.S., future 3D smart phones are probably in our future too. And, what better company to provide such a device than Apple with its iPhone? What do you think? Leave your comments below.
