Apple Can Do Better With New Mac App Store Listing
March 7, 2011
In the new “Best Together” section in the Mac App Store, Apple focuses on applications that also work with the iPhone/iPod touch or iPad versions of the app. Unfortunately, the list isn’t very large or diverse. Still, it's a good starting point.
The 20 apps highlighted are mostly from the business, finance, or productivity categories. Only one game, Chopper 2, is listed.
Titles include: Evernote, Money3, iBank, and Apple’s own, Keynote, among others.
As a concept, a section like this is necessary. After all, it’s helpful for customers to see which applications are also tied to iDevices in some fashion.
Still, in its present form, “Best Together” is weak. Hopefully, Apple will add more titles to this list in the future.
