New Survey Suggests AT&T And Verizon iPhone Customers Are Each Quite Different

According to a new Mobclix survey, there are clear differences between AT&T iPhone users and their Verizon iPhone counterparts. The results of the survey, which were originally released by TechCrunch, are quite interesting.

The Mobclix study, which looked at iPhone usage in the U.S. in February, shows that the larger the city, the more likely the iPhone user is a Verizon customer. This is especially true in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, Chicago, New York City and Boston.

In addition, AT&T iPhone users spend more time using Wi-Fi (53 percent) compared to Verizon iPhone owners (38 percent).

According to TechCrunch, this is likely due to the 24,000 AT&T Wi-Fi Hot Spots throughout the U.S.

Finally, a fun fact: two out of three AT&T iPhone customers who switched to Verizon paid a $325 early termination fee. The reasons for the switch: Reception, the Personal Hot Spot feature, and reputation.

AT&T only recently began offering its own Hot Spot feature for its iPhone customers, while Verizon allowed this since its iDevice was released in February.
