VEVO Updated, Adds Support For AirPlay In iOS 4.3

March 3, 2011
Almost immediately following yesterday's special event, the popular music video streaming applications, VEVO and VEVO HD, received important updates. Now, the apps are "iOS 4.3 AirPlay ready," meaning once iOS 4.3 is released (on March 11), Apple fans will be able to stream music videos from the applications to any AirPlay compatible device - such as an Apple TV. Steve Jobs announced that iOS 4.3 brings AirPlay support for third party apps yesterday, at the Yerba Buena Center in San Francisco:
Next, AirPlay improvements. When you tap on the AirPlay icon, it looks around and finds your Apple TV. It’s that easy. We’re making it even better in iOS 4.3. If you’re sharing photos, you can use all of the built in slide show options. And now in 4.3, apps from the Store and even websites can do video or audio.
Now, both VEVO apps have been updated to support AirPlay in iOS 4.3. This is great news - once the software update becomes available to download, we'll be able to take advantage of this feature in "AirPlay ready" apps such as VEVO. Hopefully other applications will receive the all important update, too, before iOS 4.3 is released. We'll keep you posted. In the meantime, you can download VEVO and VEVO HD from the App Store. Both are available for free.
