Following the recent storms in the United States, Apple has expedited the approval of an app to assist those in need. The North Alabama Storms Victims Donation App is now available in the App Store.
The app, released today, has one purpose: to direct users to various charities that are accepting donations for the victims of the storms of April 27, 2011.
Among the charities accepting donations are the American Red Cross, United Way, Salvation Army, and other organizations.
According to the app’s iTunes page:
Over 250 people died in these storms in Alabama alone and more than 349 across the entire south. Within Alabama at least 3 towns no longer exist, 5 schools have been totally destroyed with more severely damaged, hundreds of homes destroyed and more. Most that enter the area equate it to total devastation. Any help you can provide to those effected would be appreciated.
We encourage our readers to download The North Alabama Storms Victims Donation App, and if possible, give to the charity of your choice.
