Catalogue by The Find is a free app that brings over 40 catalogs together in one app. Many of the catalogs are quite popular, such as: Williams Sonoma, Crate and Barrel, Sephora, Nordstrom, Saks 5th Avenue, Sierra Trading Post and more. This presents a whole new way to browse and shop from your favorite catalog.
Catalogue by The Find is listed in the New and Noteworthy section in the App Store. Currently, the catalogs that are available are a little more well known and popular than those in Catalog Spree, which is another available catalog app.
When you open the app, you are given several catalogs to view. Once you select one of interest, you are given pictures of the individual items. When you tap on the item, you are given more information and the option to be directed to the retailer’s online store. At this point, the item will open in an integrated browser. You also have the ability save an item within the app.
It will be interesting to watch and see how this app does as this form of retail shopping grows on portable devices. A recent report from the The Wall Street Journal stated that merchants send out over 20 billon catalogs each year. This is the primary revenue generator for retailers and these apps have the potential to reach more people than ever.
It seems smart since right now I have a bag full of catalogs waiting to go out with our recycling this week. Not only is Catalogue by The Find more “green,” it is also a better way for available products to catch my eye. I am more apt to pull out my iPad and scroll through Crate and Barrel while sitting in a waiting room, than remembering to bring it along.
