The iPhone Dev-Team has recently released an updated version of redsn0w for Windows, which adds support for the first beta version of iOS 5.
After releasing an iOS 5 jailbreak solution for Macintosh computers, the iPhone Dev-Team has now given Windows fans a slice of the iOS 5 jailbreak-cake. In keeping with tradition, the news of redsn0w for Windows’ update hit the Web via @MucleNerd‘s Twitter account. He wrote:
Windows redsn0w iOS5 jailbreak released http://is.gd/6eek4Y — devs ONLY….PLEASE don’t pirate Apple software!
Currently, both versions of redsn0w can only provide users with a tethered solution. This means that in order to regain jailbreak functionality, users will have to plug their iPhone into a computer, and boot it using redsn0w whenever it is switched off or runs out of power.
However, unlockers should stay away from this release.
