The iPhone 3GS Gets A Reprieve, Will Work With Next iOS

June 6, 2011
During today’s WWDC keynote address, Apple representatives surprised the crowd with news iOS 5 would fully support the iPhone 3GS. This means owners of this handset will be able to use all the goodies coming via the next iOS. It was just weeks ago it was suggested the next-generation iOS wouldn’t support the iPhone model first released in 2009. The new iOS 5, which will be available this fall, supports the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod touch 3th and 4th generation, and the iPad and iPad 2. On May 24, Mobile Review editor, Eldar Murazin made an announcement via Twitter, indicating the iPhone 3GS would lose full iOS 5 support.
