Pope Benedict XVI Promotes New Website With iPad Tweet

June 29, 2011
Pope Benedict XVI (born Joseph Aloicious Ratzinger) of the Catholic Church might be 84 years old, but he's not afraid of embracing technology to promote his messages of faith to the masses. After launching the Church's YouTube and Facebook presences, Benny's taken to Twitter for the first time with the following message: The now-famous tweet was used to announce the Vatican's new news.va website, which will act as a total-source aggregator of all notable Vatican City media programs (Vatican Radio, Vatican Television, the L'Osservatore Romano newspaper, the Holy See's press office, and Fides, the Vatican's missionary news agency). To view a video of the event, check out the embedded feature below. Now that even the Pope's using an iPad, many might view Apple's lineup as a bit too passe. Lenny Kravitz, for one, is taking his protest to the streets, hopping around New York City in true hipster fashion. Check out that mobile handset! As for religious debate, let's not have any of that in the comments, okay?
