Street Fighter IV Volt Coming Soon To iPhone

June 20, 2011
Fighting-game fans will soon be able to get their hands on four new playable characters in the upcoming Street Fighter IV Volt. The game will also have online multiplayer allowing iOS gamers to finally have the ability to compete against players around the world. Online play will require connecting over a Wi-Fi network. According to EventHubs, the game will have a total of 18 characters, this is a step up from the previous entry's 14. The four new characters include "Balrog, Vega, Cody and a mystery character." The game appears to have similar visuals to the previous version using a mix of static 2D backgrounds with some 3D effects thrown in. The controls will be fully customizable allowing players to move the virtual stick and buttons to a location of their preference. Some button-mashing shortcuts will be available for casual players to make the game accessible on the iPhone. However, this is Street Fighter to its core and competitive gamers should feel right at home here as well (especially now with online play). Various move sets will be available that include "Unique Attacks, Special Moves, EX Moves, Super Combos and Ultra Combos." Online multiplayer looks to be a great addition and will make this title worth checking out when it becomes available. The game will also have the standard Bluetooth-multiplayer options for local multiplayer. According to the app description of the current Street Fighter IV iOS game, Street Fighter Volt is coming out in July. Look for it in the next couple of weeks.
