Facebook For iPhone Gets An Update - Makes Some Minor Changes, Still Not Universal

July 23, 2011
The Facebook iPhone app has recently received an update (version 3.4.4), and though a variety of minor changes have been made, the application is still not compatible with Apple's iPad. As outlined in the app's release notes, changes include:
  • Restored the Send button for Comments, Chat and Messages
  • Restored friend lists to the News Feed filter
  • Fixed a number of bugs that caused the app to crash
For some time now, rumors of a Facebook iPad app have been circulating online. Back in June, we heard that such an app was indeed in development, and that it would be hitting the iPad App Store soon. However, as of this moment no such application is currently available, meaning iPad owners must interact with the social network either in Safari for iOS, or using a different third-party Facebook app. Hopefully we'll see a Facebook iPad app hit the App Store soon. Until then, take a look at the recently updated Facebook iPhone app, and let us know your thoughts on the new version in the comments.
