What could be more lovable and awesome than zombies or stick figures? Ninjas. That's what. Who can resist those masks, the sweet footwear and the awesome black pajamas they lounge in all day? Sure, the perks come with a lifetime of commitment to discipline, service and self-sacrifice, but the outfit and weapons still rock. Action Ninja is all about getting in touch with your inner ninja and taking down the bad guys.
Action Ninja is just walking down the street like a ninja boss when out of nowhere, BAM! Bad guys start gliding out of the sky on rice paper wings. What's a ninja to do? Whip out your hidden throwing ninja stars of course. That's what they're there for. You start taking the bad guys down, and they're going down hard. There's a catch though.
Apparently, your sensei in his infinite wisdom decided that now was the appropriate time to teach you a lesson in aim. If you miss, you lose a bit of your life-force. I can only imagine it involves Pat Morita thumping you on the head with a bamboo stick off-screen. So, take care before flinging those things willy-nilly. For all you know, there are pedestrians around.
The rest of the game is about survival. Your life-force is conveniently divided into equal thirds, and you throw your infinite supply of ninja stars until you drop. Well, it's more along the lines of the bad guys dropping on you, but I think the point is still abundantly clear.
