New App Tells You Whether Your Favorite TV Series Is About To Be Canceled

August 3, 2011
How many times have you started watching a new television program and then suddenly, the network cancels it? Now a new iPhone/iPod touch app tells you the likelihood that your favorite series is cancelled or renewed. Plus, you can soon use the app to help save your show from the chopping block. Created by Ironsoft Studios, Rnewde arrived in the App Store this week and serves two main purposes. First, it mines relevant information from around the web about a show’s renewal changes and then calculates its "health" using a meter. Second, it allows you to create a personalized forecast of upcoming new episodes of each of your favorite series. In addition, the app is fully integrated with Miso’s check-in API so users can check-in to episodes without having to utilize the Miso app. Other features include:
  • Massive show database including those that have ended, are still airing, and are going to premiere in the coming weeks
  • Episode tagging so users never lose their place in a season
  • Quick views for recently missed episodes, upcoming season and show premieres, and everything new airing that night.
  • Integration with Facebook and Miso by getting your liked and favorite shows added automatically
Future enhancements include:
  • Netflix integration
  • iPad Version
  • Android Version
  • Web Access
  • Recommendations
  • Where to watch online information for each episode
  • Save my show campaigns
Rnewde’s premise is rather unique and because of this we believe it comes with a lot of promise. We look forward to seeing how it grows with future updates. Even as a Version 1.0 release, the free app comes highly recommended.
