You’ve likely heard of Parrot’s AR.Drone, Griffin Technology’s Helo TC, and a few other iOS app-controlled toys making their way to market. iHelicopters.net does offer the flying experience, but now also offers a driving experience like no other. Introducing the iW500, a RC car that literally climbs to new heights.

Even though racers can send an iW500 speeding across the kitchen floor, it isn’t this car’s eye-catching talent. After activating the vacuum function, this six inch Batmobile looking vehicle can drive on walls, undersides of tables, windows, and much more. To be fair, it must be a mostly smooth and flat surface to work. However, most shouldn’t find it too difficult to locate at least some area that fit those requirements.

The iW500′s attention grabbing reaches beyond function and into fashion. Racers can choose either a silver and red or silver and blue look, where either model contains functional tail and headlights. The color choice isn’t just a way to satisfy preference, it’s a way to distinguish your car from your opponent’s car. Use up to three iW500s in close proximity by assigning different communication bands.

As with most app-controlled toys, the iW500 charges through a USB port, which requires about 30 minutes for a full charge. Fully charged, the 200mAh Li-Polymer battery provides up to 10 minutes of play. The iOS app features two different control schemes, including gyroscope support and automatic deceleration upon control release. Operating distance is up to 35 feet / 10 meters using the included Dock mounted transmitter.

The iW500 app-controlled wall climbing car is available for $59.95, plus applicable taxes and shipping fees. The iSpace-Weccan app is designed for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 4.0 or later, and available in the App Store as a free download.
