T-Mobile Showers Apple With Love, In Hopes Of Getting iPhone

September 27, 2011
T-Mobile’s Chief Marketing Officer Cole Brodman recently published an open letter to its customers about his company’s desire to officially carry the iPhone. Strangely, the letter reads more like a love letter to Apple than one specifically geared towards existing T-Mobile customers. One day after Brodman confirmed that T-Mobile hadn’t yet heard from Apple with regards to carrying the iPhone, comes his “Letter to T-Mobile Customers” declaration. In it, Brodman states that there are now one million unlocked iPhone customers using the T-Mobile network. However, he knows his customers want more. Says Brodman:
We’ve heard from many customers who love their T-Mobile service, but are disappointed that we don’t carry the iPhone. To these customers, first, thank you for your business.  Please know that we think the iPhone is a great device and Apple knows that we’d like to add it to our line-up. Today, there are over a million T-Mobile customers using unlocked iPhones on our network. We are interested in offering all of our customers a no-compromise iPhone experience on our network.
Currently, those one million customers can only use their iPhones using T-Mobile’s slower Edge network and not 3G. In other words, Brodman is really, really hoping T-Mobile customers can soon buy locked iPhones that run on a better network. Will Apple finally bring the iPhone to T-Mobile? Something tells us we’ll know more after next Tuesday, October 4 when the next iPhone is expected to be unveiled.
