Popular Mac Weather Application Comes To iPhone

October 19, 2011
One of our favorite weather apps for Mac has arrived for iOS. The free swackett app, by AGLogic, LLC, is available now in the App Store. Calling itself “a different kind of weather app,” swackett provides a visual weather report using Accu Weather forecasts. It does this by using people symbols called “peeps,” which change with the weather. For example, on a cold winter day, the “peeps” wear hats, coats, and boots. On a warm summer day, they wear shorts and sunglasses. In addition, swackett provides actual and “feels like” temperatures, as well as overall weather conditions using simple terms (cool and storm, for example.) Turning your iPhone/iPod touch horizontally and you’ll see weather forecasts for the next 24 hours and next seven days. In addition, videos, and warning and watches are also shown here. Now, more about those “peeps.” While swackett is free, in-app purchases make the app’s forecasts more unique. Known as “peep” packs, these add-ons include a 1950s Edition and Modern Edition, among others. When activated, your “peeps” begin wearing poodle skirts, for example. Plus, purchases carryover to the swackett for Mac application. In other words, “peeps” purchased via the app (or vice versa) may be used across all supported devices and on up to 10 computers. Additional editions, available now or coming soon include: The Academy Peeps Edition, The Little Peeple Edition, All And Wench Edition, British Invasion Edition, La Edición de América Latina, and the Far East Edition. Finally, for $.99, you can turn ads off permanently within the iPhone app. Download the swackett app today. Note – Not all “peeps” can be used across platforms. Please review the swackett website for more information.
