The New djay - David Guetta Edition App Arrives For iPhone

October 1, 2011
The folks behind the popular djay apps for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad, Algoriddim, have released their first special edition app. The djay – David Guetta Edition app is available now in the App Store. But, is it worth its premium price? Available for $7.99, the iPhone app offers the same amazing DJ tools available on the standard edition iPhone app, plus a few unique twists. Named after the superstar DJ and producer, djay – David Guetta Edition features five of Guetta’s electro tracks from the deluxe edition of his new album, “Nothing But The Beat.” These include: “Lunar,” “Little Bad Girl Instrument,” “Sunshine,” “Glasgow,” and “Paris.” In addition, the app comes with a live sampler with 12 exclusive David Guetta signature sounds, including six synths and six drum beats. It also includes a portrait (single deck) mode not available on the other djay apps. Take a look:

Other features include:
  • Direct access to iPod library
  • Hyper-realistic low-latency turntable interface
  • Automix mode with automatic transition control (Fade, Backspin, Reverse, Brake, and Random)
  • Automatic beat and tempo matching (BPM sync)
  • Looping (Auto, Manual, and Bounce)
  • Cue Point Trigger
  • Live Recording
  • Seamless AirPlay integration (wirelessly transmit your mix to Apple TV or AirPort Express base station)
  • Pre-Cueing (with optional headphone adapter)
  • Full visual waveform
  • High-quality scratching
  • Mixer, tempo, and EQ controls
  • Pitch-Bend
  • Beat-synchronized scrubbing
  • Support for all major audio formats including MP3, AAC, WAV, AIFF (no support for DRM protected songs)
  • Fully optimized for iOS multitasking and background operation
At $7.99, djay – David Guetta Edition is $7 more than the standard iPhone app. However, when you consider that the five tracks included are priced at $1.29 each in iTunes ($6.45 for all), the app is actually reasonably priced. Besides, the app’s portrait (single deck) view alone might make it worth it for many. Still, if you’re not a David Guetta fan, our advice is to buy djay for iPhone for $.99. Or better yet, upgrade to the djay iPad edition. Note – The five tracks included within the djay – David Guetta Edition will not play within any other music app.
