Heroic Legends (Free) by FABULAPPS is a universal, massive multiplayer online (MMO) game that incorporates stats-based battles and questing to bring you a “freemium” game worth investing in.
The fun starts off with the building of your character. Choose from humans, skeletons and goblins and decide to be male or female. Be sure to choose wisely because you only get one character and it costs a lot to make changes to it.
Once your character is ready to begin his adventure, you will learn how to work, fight and quest. Working will earn gold, experience points (XP) and sometimes elixirs. Early in the game, working consists of baking bread, muffins and cakes. As you level up, you will be able to change jobs to things like blacksmith or wood cutter. Each task that you do will cost “Inergia,” which is earned when you level up, when you win battles, and as time goes by (characters automatically earn one Inergia every four minutes). Inergia is akin to the amount of energy your character needs to complete tasks.
In order to battle, select a challenger and tap the “Attack” button. Your character’s stats in agility, strength, armor and life will be compared to your opponents and the character with the best stats wins the battle. To increase your odds, hold down the “Attack” button for an extra second and multiple attack options will appear for you to select from. Things like “inflict a gash” will temporaily increase your agility and strength, but they cost additional bravery points. Bravery points allow you to fight other characters.
Questing can only undertaken by players that are in a guild. You can try to join any guild that is open by sending a message to the guild leader, or start your own by saving up (or buying) 40 elixirs. Quests include things like winning 50 times against a human or building 20 rat cages. I tried to join three different guilds and was unsuccessful each time, so good luck getting someone to accept you (written in a bitter voice).
Overall, this universal game is full of simple tap-to-play adventure gaming. It is not a role-playing game. It is more like Yu-Gi-Oh! or Pokemon in that fights are predetermined by your stats and you don’t do much to in the battle. Quests are not mission based, they focus more on accomplishing certain tasks a specific number of times. It is free, and the game is lots of fun without purchasing additional items. It is not world exploration, though. Don’t expect World of Warcraft type gaming or anything like that. Just sit back and have some fun. Pick it up in the App Store for free.
