The iOS Academy: Creating Settings Shortcuts, Still Jailbreak Free

November 26, 2011
Recently we taught you how to use the Icon Project app to create shortcuts to certain parts of the Settings app. In today’s iOS Academy, I’m going to show you an even easier way to do just that. This may turn out to be the shortest iOS Academy ever because it is so simple and easy, and it doesn’t require a lot of words to explain. You can do it all by simply visiting a single website. The first thing you want to do is go to brdrck.me/settings/ on your iOS device. Once the page loads you will be presented with an array of beautiful icons from Bluetooth, to Siri, to wallpaper. Just tap the shortcut you wish to be placed on your home screen, choose which icon you prefer, and tap install shortcut. You will then be taken to your Settings app and asked to install the profile. You’ll want to tap the install button, followed by install now on the pop-up and you're done. Once on your home screen, these beautifully designed icons will let you access that specific part of the Settings app. You just tap the icon and you are on your way to its designated setting so that you may adjust it however you please. This was all developed by UI and visual designer, Jeff Broderick who has worked on apps such as Line2, Socialize, and Socialcam. I’m not sure how much easier things could be made. As always if you have any questions or feedback you can get in touch with me here. I hope everyone had a safe and fun Thanksgiving.
