Soon after Apple’s announcement of iBooks 2 and its Mac textbook creation tool, more details of pricing and availability were released.

The new iBooks 2 app will be available today, with a new textbooks category in the iBookstore.

The new textbooks are priced at $14.99 or less and are aimed at every level of study for almost any subject. Partnering with McGraw Hill, Apple plans to release textbooks for algebra, physics, chemistry, geometry and biology. Furthermore, DK Publishing will be releasing books for all different grade levels, four of which are launching today, they include: My First ABC, Mammals and two other books aimed at a younger age group.

Apple has also partnered with Pearson and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt and both will have samples available today.
