In An Overflow Of Valentine's Day Love, 6 Wunderkinder Turns Wunderkit Free

February 16, 2012
Since releasing Wunderkit for iOS earlier this month, the 6 Wunderkinder team has been going through all of the feedback users have sent in and made a decision to revise the pricing scheme. Specifically, the company has restructured their Pro account system to make the majority of features absolutely free. Wunderkit is a task manager unlike most others. Actually, Wunderkit is a suite of project management apps, and with something special: social integration. No, I'm not talking about simply sharing to-dos via Twitter or Facebook rather a community-style project system. Initially, 6 Wunderkinder's plan was to offer the app as a free personal project manager with the community features available at a premium, referred to as a Pro account. To elaborate, Pro account subscribers could work on other people's projects and invite their friends to work on their projects. This boundary made many fans concerned, feeling it was significantly stifling the potential of the product. In an entry posted on their blog, 6 Wunderkinder took the time to explain the situation and describing what action they were taking to appease customers.
You worried that by using a free account you were not able to get involved with other people’s projects, and the fact that your friends would have to pay if they wanted to join yours. We thought about it for a little while and said ‘You know what? They’re totally right’. We, as a company, do not want to limit social creation. And with that, I’m happy to announce that we’re not putting a price on collaboration. It should be free for all. Period. So as of today Wunderkit is, and always will be, completely free for everybody on the planet.
So, what does this mean exactly? Most of the premium features have become completely free to use, but there remains an advantage to being a Pro user. All accounts now allow Wunderkit users to: • Invite as many people to a workspace as you want • Join an unlimited number of workspaces • Create as many workspaces as you'd like • Use Wunderkit on the Web, Mac and iPhone • No ads, anywhere For $4.99 per month, Pro accounts gain: • The most out of new built-in apps (coming soon!) • Priority support • Show your love with a 'Pro' badge • Group billing options If you don't yet have Wunderkit and would like to know more, check out our beta review and then grab your free copies. Wunderkit for iOS is designed for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 4.0 or later, and available in the App Store as a free download. Wunderkit for Mac is compatible with Mac OS X 10.6 and Mac OS X 10.7, and available as a free download.
