Nuance Adds Expedia And Hulu Plus To Dragon Go

February 22, 2012
Dragon Go, Nuance Communications' voice-controlled search app, is now connected with two new services to provide even more travel and entertainment results. First up, I'll talk about the Expedia integration. In Dragon Go v1.2, asking "What are the available flights from Minneapolis to Orlando?" will bring up a listing of today's available airline tickets from Minneapolis, Minnesota to Orlando, Florida. In addition, you can also ask "What are the top resorts in Orlando?" for lodging suggestions. Just like with the other services, Dragon Go does accept a few alternative wordings, such as replacing "top" with "best" or "resort" with "hotel," and phrasing your query as a statement instead of a question. Indeed, Expedia integration carries another common action: misunderstanding. On occasion, Dragon Go will use Yelp or OpenTable instead of Expedia, or formulate the search in a way that causes Expedia to display no results. Moving onto entertainment, subscribers of Hulu+ will now be aware if movie and television shows are available for free streaming via Hulu+ and not just through Netflix or iTunes. To use this service, you can say "Alcatraz on Hulu Plus" or "TV shows Glee" to list the availability of the television series. Dragon Go! is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, 32GB and 64GB third generation iPod touch, fourth generation iPod touch and newer running iOS 4.0 or later, and it's available in the App Store as a free download.
