I’m going to make it through this post without typing a swear word. I will try to make it through without laughing like a teenager. I will be dignified and mature during this article. I’m also aware that I’m attempting the impossible. With an app like Swear Words, that makes a game out of the exclamations that used to earn you a dose of soap in your mouth, how can you be expected to be mature while you play it?
Swear Words is a hangman-like game that assigns six points to each swear word. For each letter you guess that is incorrect, one point is deducted. See? It’s a legitimate game. Just because you wouldn’t play it in your grandmother’s company doesn’t mean anything. Unless you have an amazing grandmother that wouldn’t be aghast over such a notion.
Some of the words are ethnic slurs. If that sort of thing is completely offensive to you, then I don’t recommend the app. There is also a hefty use of the “f-bomb” as well. Therefore, the app is considered to be age-restricted material. I also couldn’t figure out how to get the game to continue keeping a running tally of my score. Not that I care. I’m not that competitive. It’s just that my friend, yes, my friend is super competitive and would like her score to be kept.
